In October, 2011, the second-annual G(irls) 20 Summit to address women’s issues was held in Paris, France. The G(irls)20 Summit brings together one delegate from each G20 country, plus a representative from the chair country of the African Union. The delegates debate, discuss and design innovative ideas necessary to empower girls and women globally. While the agenda is the same as the G20 leaders and focuses on economic innovation, the participants are all girls, aged 18-20.

The G(irls) 20 Summit 2011 just wrapped up in October and hvanig recruited sharp girls from around the world to discuss sexual health, environmental challenges, female infanticide, along with many other pressing issues, the Summit is ready to start all over again. Modeled After G20, Girls 20 chooses the smartest and brightest girls from 21 countries to weigh in on the most critical problems of our time, from economics crises to child marriage. What makes Girls 20 a unique effort is that girls aren’t framed as the problem, but rather a powerful resource in solving these epidemics.
